When we think of a haunted house we associate it with an old, abandoned property which is scary, where we're afraid to go, let alone live. Such extreme visitations are a rarity. There is a whole spectrum of hauntings from quite light, perfectly harmless ones to very severe. Some simply make life difficult for people, but there are those which make life totally impossible.
How do such phenomena occur? Their cause are ghosts of a specific kind. For many people their only aim in life is to earn the greatest possible amounts of money, to acquire and maintain the largest properties possible. The concept of a fortune, or riches is, of course, relative. What for one person may be great riches for another person is of no value whatever. The kind of person I'm talking about will not have seen anything in his or her life other than making a fortune. They have grown so attached to it that they cannot leave it either in this life or after death. They don't want to die at all, but since they must they wonder what they can do with it. They'd like most of all to take it with them, but how? Maybe leave it to someone to inherit? Oh, no, they worked too hard to get it. Besides which, no-one else will care for it properly. They, as human beings, never meant anything, never did anything good for themselves, never rested, never visited anything, never even thought about themselves and now they're supposed to leave it all? Never. The sacrifice was too great, after all they had sold their souls for the property.
