We are the creators II
And so it is that whatever we think becomes our creation. The fact that we are sick, poor, unemployed, or that our relationships with people don't work is all our own creation. If what we have, the situation we find ourselves at a given moment, isn't to our liking then we simply have to note it, recognise that it is not to our liking and decide on something new. I suspect that many of you will say - well, yes, it's easy to say but far harder to do. But please believe me that I haven't yet met a person who hasn't got out of even the worst possible of life's afflcitions if they have sincerely decided to do it. The moment they decide that things are so bad for them that they could not be worse, everything starts to change, as if by magic.
Unfortunately, one often needs to reach that rock bottom because if things are still comparatively okay or even if everything is terrible but we still think that we'll survive it, then we haven't the motivation to set about changing our convictions and thoughts. I've sometimes been in a situation where I have said - No! I will not take this even for one second, even if I were to disintegrate into a thousand pieces I have to change it... and then indeed everything did change. But as long as it seemed to me that I would somehow survive it... then I did survive it, and I suffered. The answer is simply to say to oneself at some moment - enough, and then to make the change.
